Our Bakery
Moscow Sourdough is a locally owned and operated sourdough bread bakery in Moscow, Idaho. We supply a variety of classic sourdough breads to our community, both to the public and commercially to restaurants and catering companies. We are a small business that operates out of a commercial kitchen with hopes to grow into a full bread bakery with a retail location. Our current bakery is not open to the public as a walk-in store but you can pick up bread at our self-service bread stand outside the shop, and place orders online for subscriptions and deliveries. Feel free to pop in to the bakery to say hi!

William Knecht, Founder and Manager
William’s vision to create a bakery in Moscow began over a decade ago in a little apartment kitchen with a few under-baked sourdough loaves. Many years and loaves later, he has honed the process to bake a plethora of delicious bread, every time. William is committed to quality: real ingredients, real time, no shortcuts.
Carolyn Knecht, Co-Owner and Administrator
Carolyn does not usually bake, but helps with the background administration of Moscow Sourdough. She enjoys spreadsheets, numbers, organization, communication, and creating beautiful things. Carolyn loves helping her husband supply bread for their community.
